Parveen Chaggar Registered Provincial Psychologist
I am a Registered Provincial Psychologist and a proud Punjabi Sikh woman with a deep passion for psychology, healing, and community wellbeing. Growing up within the Punjabi community strongly shaped my values and my understanding of the importance of connection, compassion, and supporting one another through life’s challenges.
From an early age, I was inspired by the power of understanding people’s experiences and the meaningful impact that empathy and care can have on individuals and families. I believe that healing and growth are possible when hard work is combined with compassion, curiosity, and respect. These beliefs continue to guide my work as a psychologist and my commitment to lifelong learning.
I work with children, teens, adults, and couples, supporting a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and life transitions. I also have experience working with children with disabilities and supporting families as they navigate complex emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. I recognize that challenges often affect not only individuals but also their relationships and family systems, and I strive to offer care that is thoughtful and responsive to each unique situation.
My therapeutic approach is client centred, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe that each client brings their own strengths, values, and lived experiences into therapy, and I work alongside clients to support goals that are meaningful to them. I am trained in EMDR and draw from a range of evidence informed approaches, tailoring therapy to meet the needs, pace, and preferences of each individual, child, couple, or family.
Cultural identity and lived experience are important aspects of mental health. I am deeply connected to my cultural roots and strongly value diversity, inclusion, and the importance of embracing different perspectives. I aim to create a culturally sensitive and inclusive therapeutic space where individuals feel safe, respected, and understood. I am mindful of how culture, family expectations, intergenerational experiences, and systemic factors can shape mental health and wellbeing.
In addition to clinical work, I am committed to ongoing growth through research involvement, professional development, and community initiatives. I believe that staying curious and engaged allows me to provide ethical, informed, and responsive care.
With my empathetic nature and dedication to psychology, my goal is to support the wellbeing of individuals, couples, families, and the broader community. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate challenges, build resilience, and move toward healing, balance, and meaningful change.

Addiction Counsellor
Living with addiction, or loving someone who is struggling with addiction, can feel exhausting, isolating, and overwhelming. Finding the right supports such as detox, residential treatment, aftercare, and ongoing counselling can be just as challenging. Addiction counselling can be an important and supportive part of the recovery journey, whether you are seeking help for yourself or trying to support someone you care about.
I work with individuals experiencing all types of addiction, including substance use, alcohol use, prescription medication dependence, and behavioural addictions. I also support families and loved ones who are impacted by addiction and are looking for guidance, tools, and understanding as they navigate complex emotions, boundaries, and decision making. Addiction does not affect only one person. It impacts relationships, families, and entire support systems.
I am passionate about reducing stigma and helping people understand that addiction is a chronic and treatable illness, not a moral failure. Relapse can be part of the recovery process, and my role is to provide education, support, and practical strategies that promote safety, insight, and long term wellbeing. I work collaboratively to help identify appropriate pathways to care, including prevention planning, relapse support, and connection to community resources when needed.
My approach is compassionate, non judgmental, and grounded in respect. I believe every recovery journey is unique, and counselling should be tailored to meet you where you are. Together, we focus on building coping skills, strengthening motivation, improving communication, and supporting healthier patterns for both individuals and families.
You do not have to face addiction alone. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or trying to help someone you love, I am here to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, clarity, and meaningful change.
